Mazda MX-5 Showdown

Mazda MX-5 Showdown

Back in February, The Fly Company were asked to join the Redwood Publishing’s Mazda team in Spain for an aerial shoot with the new Mazda MX-5. With a very tight schedule of one day, we worked closely with the ground crew to get some fast-paced low level action shots of the cars battling it out around the track. Many of the shots wouldn’t be achievable without the use of cranes or Russian arms, requiring lengthy set-ups and costly day rates. We were able to reposition quickly, maximising the day’s shoot. All footage was shot on the panasonic GH4, in a custom flat profile allowing for grading in post to match the other footage shot on the Sony F5.
